Science, Technology, and Math
Science is the core curriculum that drives an inquiry-based, issues-oriented instructional program across all subject areas. We believe that the logic, rigor and discipline of scientific and mathematical study foster responsibility, promote excellence and cultivate perseverance, values we strive to instill in all our students.
In order for students to recognize the relevance of science in their daily lives, to appreciate its impact on our world, and for students to envision future careers in science-related fields, the social, economic and political connections to scientific research and discoveries are emphasized throughout the curriculum, as well as in science classes.
The significance of scientific discoveries and technological advances are highlighted in both English and Social Studies classes. In addition to traditional literature, students learn how to read informational text in order to conduct research and gain greater comprehension of technical material. With a concentration on American History, students learn about scientific discoveries and technological advances that have had a major impact on shaping the course of our nation’s history.
